About me and this website
I was born in 1965. I studied architecture and I have been working at a number of offices in Aachen and Rostock, along with some self-employed work. Since 2005, I work for the city of Rheinfelden in south-western Germany.
I started photography at about the age of ten and restarted seriously in 2002 (that's when I started this web site.) I still consider myself a not-too-serious amateur. There was a period when I was in love with compact rangefinder cameras from the 1960s and 1970s and collected them. Those days are over. I still like and use them, but most of the cameras that are reviewed on this website have since been sold. Nowadays I use digital cameras most of the time, especially a Nikon D70s that I acquired in early 2007. I plan to keep it as long as it works an then get the latest Nikon DSLR, but who knows.
I started playing guitar in 1980 and restarted in 2006. Eventually I might open a music department on this website, but there's a long way to go. I am currently taking lessons in classical guitar, which is not the kind of music I like the most, but something i feel I have been missing so far.
I am married to the best girl in the world and have a son who is 19 right now and having a great time.
If you like what you read and see here, please consider making a donatinon. I am doing this for fun, but keeping up the website and answering all the questions is taking a considerable amount of time and even a little money, and I could do with some more money (who couldn't?)
